Thank you Connie. Anything particularly jump out at you? I sometimes pause when I’m reading because a phrase takes my breath away. I have to ‘take a moment’ to acknowledge the aptness or artistry.
We are spoilt for choice with Mexican food here. It’s a treat. I’d never eaten Mexican food before I came to the US. Took me a little while to get into it but now I love it. I even make tortillas for breakfast now and then.
I’m glad it invited you! We can be so harsh with our thoughts. It really helps me (mostly) when I remember thoughts are really insubstantial and transitory. Gentle paired with curious gives such a different experience.
Juliet, in response to your final question- I would focus on what gave rise to the state of mind and associated emotions. In theory to learn and understand for my peace of mind and to help others. In practice the ongoing risk I would attempt to influence or control what I want which would provide material for your written narrative. While you may have intended to write for yourself - it applies to me too.
I love your word craft and turn of phrase 💖

I didn't expect so much Mexican food as far North as you are Juliet - loved these photos and reflections.

So simple to shift our attention if we think to yet so hard to look away once we’re really stuck in.
that's a much gentler way to look at and relate to the anxious state of mind. I appreciate that.
The title alone is inviting. :)

Juliet, I forwarded one of your substacks to a friend to whom I want to introduce you sometime, and she commented Juliet writes like you paint!
Oh that’s so beautiful Margaret. I’ve been thinking of you these last couple of days. Will text you.

I’d love to sink more often into the felt sense of Life. I like it there!
